Set in a beautiful peaceful courtyard, The Hunt House is part of a magnificently restored thatched hunting lodge and covered stables, steeped in history, the lodge and adjacent car park date back over 200 years when it was used as a deer yard for young deer who were brought in from the hunting grounds until they were strong enough to run with the herd.

There is always constant work needed to upkeep a house of this period. The middle section of The Hunt House has been dated as early as 1500. Since moving in we are keen to upkeep the gardens, designed to replicate an English Country garden, making improvements where needed. It is a labour of love.

Welcome to the room, all are individually named and are all unique in the way they have been constructed.  The bedroom in which you are staying used to be an old stable block that housed the polo ponies for the Comte De Madre in the early 1900’s, prior to that it was used for the young deer to keep them safe for the winter. Before that, who knows what they were used for!

We hope you enjoy your stay in the Hunt House Quarters, please let us know if there is anything you need or if we can do anything to make your stay more enjoyable.
